Chelsea takeover set to be CONFIRMED this week, Blues held Haaland talks before agreeing Lukaku and Azpilicueta’s move to Barca

Good morning Chelsea fans

The £4.25billion takeover of Chelsea is now set to be confirmed by the government THIS WEEK.

And directors Marina Granovskaia and Bruce Buck are among the club managers set to share a £50million bonus from new owner Todd Boehly.

On Monday, government sources suggested Roman Abramovich’s demands could result in the Blues’ takeover “falling apart”.

The disputed issue was how the £1.6billion Chelsea owed the Russian would be transferred to a new account to fund the proposed charitable foundation.

But after days of fighting between club lawyers and the government, the trustees of Jersey-based Camberley International Investments have been cleared of any legal action.

That clears the way for the initial £2.5 billion payment from the Boehly consortium to be deposited into a government-controlled deposit before being transferred to the foundation – once Treasury officials confirm that no money will end up in Abramovich’s pocket.

Elsewhere, Cesar Azplicueta is yet to decide on his future at Chelsea, despite reports claiming he has agreed to join Barcelona.

The defender is reportedly set to meet with the Blues hierarchy in the next few hours about his upcoming career plans.

And he is said to be keen to liaise with the club’s new owners and Thomas Tuchel as he does not want to leave Stamford Bridge on bad terms, according to Sports Witness.

Chelsea, meanwhile, have their eye on Eintracht Frankfurt teenager Luka Hyrylainen.

The Finland U19 defensive midfielder, 17, is being watched by a number of Europe’s top clubs.

But Chelsea hope to pounce once he turns 18 in August and the Blues’ sale is complete and their transfer ban lifted.

Hyrylainen still has a year’s contract with the German Europa League finalists.

Finally, N’Golo Kante has spoken about his future at Chelsea.

But he refused to reveal where he will play next season as he only focuses on the current season with the Blues.

Kante told Sky Sports: “The only thing for sure is I have one year left and the only thing that is is to finish this season.

“I’ll think about it in due course.” Chelsea takeover set to be CONFIRMED this week, Blues held Haaland talks before agreeing Lukaku and Azpilicueta’s move to Barca
