Chelsea star Thiago Silva says Neymar ‘must’ move to Stamford Bridge as the Brazilian ‘considers his future’ at PSG

THIAGO SILVA insists Neymar must join him at Chelsea.

Centre-back Silva is keen to reunite with his Brazilian team-mate and ‘super friend’ as PSG look to sack the striker legend.

Chelsea are the club most associated with Neymar (30).

The ex-Barcelona superstar is set to leave French champions PSG despite scoring 13 goals in 22 games during his injury-plagued season.

And former PSG ace Silva, 37, told Brazilian media: “He has to go to Chelsea.

“If it happens, it’s for the best. He doesn’t need comments. And on top of that, he’s a great friend.

“I don’t know anything yet, but I hope it will bear fruit.”

Silva spoke openly about his hopes when questioned by journalists while on vacation in his hometown of Recife.

And Chelsea’s interest in Neymar comes 12 years after they tried to sign him from Santos.

But the Brazilian giant refused to sell and renewed his contract.

Instead, he joined Barca in 2013 and later formed one of the greatest attacking trios in the world with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.

Neymar joined PSG four years later for £198million.

But the 119-cap hero seems to have lost some of his glamor on and off the pitch while never really settling in France.

Now he could become the statement-signer that new Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is so keen on.

Chelsea are also linked with moves for Brazilian Raphinha – who had a £55million bid for the Leeds star – and Man City star Raheem Sterling.

The Blues are set to make a £50m offer for the Englishman this week.
