Chelsea star Ross Barkley faces driving ban after being caught with phone at the wheel

PREMIER League footballer Ross Barkley faces a driving ban after being caught on his phone behind the wheel.
The Chelsea the midfielder, who had a criminal record, is said to have hired the driver for the next 12 months.

The £84,000-a-week star will appear at magistrate Bromley’s court in South East London next month after amassing enough points to face a ban.
A source said he was getting ready to be taken to and from training. They said: “He was worried there would be a ban. A driver was brought in to help.
“He loves the car so it will be gutted, but he has had a lot of warnings over the years and now he has accumulated enough points for the ban.
“Even someone on his salary would find a driving ban extremely unpleasant. He could certainly make it without it, although any fines and expenses won’t set him back too much on his paycheck.”
In 2013, while playing for Everton, he was fined £650 and received six penalty points for committing a 50mph act on a 30mph road in Liverpool.
In 2019, Barkley and Chelsea teammates Antonio Rudiger and Callum Hudson-Odoi were both caught speeding on the same stretch of road near the club’s training ground in Cobham, Surrey.
Barkley was fined £700 and received four points.
Chelsea FC declined to comment.
