Chelsea star Mason Mount supports surprise team as he’s spotted getting his football fix at an out-of-league game

MASON MOUNT’s Chelsea has not been in action for almost a fortnight.

So the England star got his kicks by watching out-of-league Margate FC instead.

Chelsea star Mount, 24, was a surprise guest last night as the Isthmian League Premier Division side beat rivals Kingstonian away from home.

Mount posed for a photo with an enthusiastic fan as he wrapped up warm at Imperial Fields.

And Margate’s official Twitter account tweeted, “Mason Mount is a Margate fan.”

It’s not the first time the midfielder has played outside of the league this season.

In September, Mount paid a visit to also Kent-based club Faversham, who play in the Isthmian South East Division.

Chelsea were due to play Liverpool on the same day but the game was postponed due to the Queen’s funeral.

Faversham boss Jermaine Darlington said: “He was there, that got the crowd buzzing a bit.

“It’s great that he took the time to come down. He caused a bit of a stir from the fans and the players.”

However, Mount’s support for Margate and Faversham remains unclear as the ace was a Portsmouth native and is a south coast fan.

However, Chelsea fans are sure to be heartened as Mount soaks up football in front of Stamford Bridge.

The Blues are looking to climb back to the top of the table after an incredible eight signings in January.

And Graham Potter’s men can start their season when they host Fulham tomorrow to reverse last month’s defeat at Craven Cottage.
