Broja is set to start the pre-season at Chelsea and could still play his part in first-team plans if he impresses Thomas Tuchel.

But there are several Premier League clubs keen to sign him following his breakthrough last season.

And Newcastle are the latest team to join the race Sky Sports.

Saints would love the opportunity to have him back at St Mary’s while West Ham are also monitoring his situation.

The Hammers are said to be planning a permanent move for the 20-year-old, who could face a £30million fee.

However, no formal talks have been held between the two London clubs, meaning Toon could tumble.

Eddie Howe could focus on improving his attack after signing goalkeeper Nick Pope and centre-back Sven Botman.

Newcastle are also checking midfield additions with Youri Tielemans and Scott McTominay on Howe’s radar.
