Chelsea ‘join Tottenham in transfer race for Brennan Johnson’ after Olise was rejected as Nottingham Forest award winner

CHELSEA are reportedly in talks to sign Nottingham Forest star Brennan Johnson.
This comes after Michael Olise turned down a move to Stamford Bridge and instead agreed a new four-year deal with Crystal Palace.
Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino is apparently interested in strengthening his forward line and he likes Johnson’s looks.
But it would cost Chelsea £45m to lure Forest into a deal, they say The guard.
Chelsea have been in touch and talks are still at an early stage, but the possibility of the Blues offering a player in exchange has been raised.
Tottenham are also keen to sign Johnson, while Brentford are believed to have turned down a £35million offer this summer.
Johnson has three years left on his contract and was a key player in the Reds’ survival last season.
He scored eight goals in his Premier League debut season and has scored 29 goals in 106 appearances for Forest.
That has sparked interest from Chelsea, who could be ready to spend big again after failing to sign Olise despite activating his £35m clause.
They are in talks with Newcastle over a potential £28million sale of Lewis Hall, which will allay west Londoners’ concerns about financial fair play and allow them to keep spending.
