Jurgen Klopp, 54, and Thomas Tuchel, 48, will battle it out in a somewhat crude match dubbed ‘Master vs Apprentice’ in the League Cup final.
The two have faced each other 17 times since their time together in Germany, with Klopp winning NINE of 17 encounters, losing three times.
Most recently, Klopp’s Liverpool faced Tuchel’s Chelsea in a thrilling 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge in early January.
Klopp has been in charge of nearly as many TWICE games as a football manager, with 945 games under him compared to Tuchel’s 524.
Tuchel boasts a better winning record of 57% to 53.4% - however, time at PSG (74.8%) has increased his stats somewhat.
And the Chelsea boss is also starting to overtake Klopp in other areas.
He equaled a Champions League win of his compatriot by winning it last season.
And he continues that with success in the Super Cup and the Club World Cup, meaning he has now surpassed Klopp’s trophy count, by 10-9.
Klopp has won three Big Five titles with one Premier League and two Bundesliga titles, while Tuchel has won only two (both Ligue 1).
All that plays out in the window tonight as the two go head-to-head knowing anything can happen in a final.
But who will be the leader? ‘Master’ or ‘Apprentice’?
