Chelsea injury surge as £75m defender Wesley Fofana could be out for just three weeks after initial long-term fears

WESLEY FOFANA breathes a sigh of relief after learning his latest injury is not serious and he may be back in just three weeks.
The defender hobbled out of Chelsea’s 3-0 win over AC Milan on crutches and wearing a protective knee brace on Wednesday.

Fofana broke his leg at former club Leicester last year, prompting concerns he may have suffered a similarly severe blow.
He was sent for a scan to assess the extent of the problem that arose in the first-half pursuit against Milan striker Rafael Leao, forcing him off after 38 minutes.
But it now appears the damage could be as limited as a sprained knee and while he is expected to miss Saturday’s home game against Wolves he will not be out in the long term.
