CHELSEA are reportedly set to be ambushed by club legend and Everton manager Frank Lampard for Conor Gallagher and Billy Gilmour.
Lampard is believed to be in the market for some quality midfielders this summer after his Toffees side left late to complete their relegation escape.
The former Chelsea manager will use his “connections” with The Blues to lure the likes of Gallagher and Gilmour to Goodison Park, the Mail reports.
Gallagher, 22, was on loan at Crystal Palace last season and was nominated for the Premier League Young Player of the Year award.
He also managed to secure his first call-up to England’s senior team from Gareth Southgate during the international break in November.
His impressive performances throughout the season have sparked numerous rumors about his future, with playing time at Chelsea set to be far more difficult to come by than at Palace.
Meanwhile, Gilmour was also loaned out, albeit in a far less successful capacity as Norwich City were relegated from the Premier League.
Unlike Gallagher, the 20-year-old found it difficult to settle into the Canary Islands system and sometimes found himself on the bench in favor of other players deemed more suitable.
However, that didn’t stop him from starting 21 Premier League games and contributing an assist from his deeper position.
Both Gallagher and Gilmour face an uncertain future at parent club Chelsea as a squad already filled with established seniors is set to be bolstered in the upcoming window.

Understandably, no one would settle for sitting on the bench for the entirety of next season, especially given the progress they’ve made this season and it’s a World Cup year (in the fall).
After Scotland’s World Cup play-off defeat by Ukraine on Thursday, Gilmour needn’t worry about that factor, while Gallagher does.
Everton have faced problems across the board throughout the season, with a midfield lacking in technical quality after James Rodriguez’s departure last year being a real sticking point.
A new signing like Gallagher or Gilmour would add a technically gifted player to the Toffees’ ranks as they look to climb further up the table and avoid the drama of a relegation battle next year.
Of course, whether Chelsea would be willing to part ways with either of the two – who are among the club’s most promising young stars – remains to be seen.
Gilmour has previously impressed in Thomas Tuchel’s system, while Gallagher would work well in it given his work rate and ball qualities desired by Tuchel.
