Chelsea have a secret agent who spent “a long time” trying to get Kylian Mbappe to join the club

EX-CHELSEA star Florent Malouda has revealed he tried to persuade Kylian Mbappe to join Stamford Bridge.

The PSG star is considered one of the best players in the world but could make a move in the summer, according to French media.

And Malouda, 42, is dying to see the France international in the Premier League.

He revealed he’s been trying for ‘a very long time’ to convince 24-year-old Mbappe that Chelsea should be the club he’s joining.

Malouda told ICE 36: “I’ve been campaigning for him to join Chelsea for a very long time!

“So far I have failed, but I will keep trying.

“Hopefully we see him in the Premier League because that’s the most competitive league in the world – it would be great to see him here.

“There aren’t that many teams that can give him what he wants and there aren’t that many teams that can build their team around him.

“He’s a leader, he’s just been appointed captain of France and will be looking for a leadership role at his next club, which could cause problems.”

Chelsea have spent a fortune on new players since last summer but have had very little success as the club sit 11th in the Premier League.

Malouda, in turn, was asked if Blues co-owner Todd Boehly could prepare a move for Mbappe.

He replied: “I think Boehly and everyone in football already knows Kylian.

“Any owner would have Mbappe on their list but it’s really about the right connection on a human level.

“We can talk about the millions of dollars he would cost in transfer fees or salaries, but it’s always the human relationship that has the biggest impact on a player’s decision.”

Despite Mbappe being linked with a departure from the Parc des Princes, the Ligue 1 giants are determined to keep their star player.

And the forward recently admitted he is determined to win the Champions League with the club.

He said: “The next step? Winning the Champions League. I’ve already reached a final, semifinals, quarterfinals, round of 16… I’ve done everything but win.

“Thats all I need. Where [I want to do it]? In Paris. I’m Parisian and under contract. So it’s PSG.”
