CHELSEA fans are set to pay tribute to Thomas Tuchel tonight in the club’s first game since his sacking.
The Germany manager, 49, was sacked by the Blues last week and was quickly replaced by Brighton manager Graham Potter.
Wednesday night marks a new era at Stamford Bridge as Potter takes charge of Chelsea for the first time.
But the European home game against Salzburg will include a 21st-minute tribute to Tuchel.
It was chosen as the most opportune moment when he lifted the club’s second Champions League trophy last year – in 2021.
The applause will replace the “crowdsurfer” which Chelsea supporters would have used as a tribute but are unable to bring forth as a mark of respect due to the Queen’s death.
Chelsea supporters movement We Are The Shed said: “Tonight will be our first game since Thomas Tuchel was sacked.
“We will not be using the crowdsurfer out of respect for the Queen’s passing/pre-match plans.
“Instead, we encourage people to stand up and applaud at the 21st minute to say ‘thank you’ (the year he won us the CL).”
Tuchel broke his silence on Sunday when addressing his sudden sacking by Chelsea.

The ex-Borussia Dortmund coach said: “That’s one of the most difficult statements I’ve ever had to write – and one I hoped I wouldn’t have to make for many years.
“I’m devastated that my time at Chelsea is over.
“Thank you to all the staff, the players and the fans who made me feel very welcome from the start.
“The pride and joy I felt in helping the team win the Champions League and Club World Cup will always stay with me.
“I am honored to have been a part of the history of this club and whatever the future holds for me, the memories of the last 18 months will always hold a special place in my heart.”
Chelsea will try to boost their Champions League campaign against Salzburg.
The Blues were beaten 1-0 by Dinamo Zagreb last week, a result that marked the end of Tuchel’s 20-month tenure in west London.
