EMERSON PALMIERI is said to want to return to Chelsea and end his loan deal at Lyon.
The star moved to France on a season-long loan last summer, but he could be afforded a return to Stamford Bridge if the French side make concessions.
Thomas Tuchel has asked the Blues terminated the deal with Lyon due to his defensive crisis.
Ben Chilwell has been dropped from the season and that has led the West London club to seek support to cover up Marcos Alonso.
However, Lyon are said to have turned down Chelsea’s initial bid to bring in their defender.
The Premier League side are trying to sweeten the deal by offering Lyon a refund to get the ace’s services and close the deal early.
Now Mercato claims that Palmieri has informed the Ligue 1 side that he wants to leave and return to his parent club to help them.
The 27-year-old arrived at Stamford Bridge in 2018 from Roma and has helped them succeed in both the Champions League and Europa League.

But the Italy international has struggled to get regular play against the Blues in Prem and made just 33 appearances in the top flight.
His frustration led to Tuchel allowing him to return at the start of the season.
