Chelsea are set to offer Conor Gallagher a new contract after he rejected transfer interest on deadline

CHELSEA are looking to reward Conor Gallagher with a new contract and a pay raise after refusing to let him go in January.
The England midfielder, who is under contract until 2025, was a huge success on loan at Crystal Palace last season, scoring eight goals in 34 Prem games.

But childhood blues fan Gallagher, who turns 23 on Monday, was already struggling for consistent playing time BEFORE Todd Boehly’s British record £110m splashed for new boy Enzo Fernandez.
Owner Boehly, who has spent a staggering £606million including loan fees and add-ons since buying the club in May, wants to keep him sweet by handing him a boost to his £50,000-a-week salary.
Newcastle and Everton joined Palace in the queue for Gallagher in the final days of the window but he was not allowed out.
A group of Prem clubs are sure to give it another try at the end of the season, but signs from Stamford Bridge suggest he’s still firmly on their minds.
And the four-cap star played the entire 0-0 home game against Fulham in the Prem on Friday.
Chelsea are still being tipped off for a summer eviction.
That could include goaltender Edouard Mendy, Kalidou Koulibaly and summer defensive flop Hakim Ziyech, as well as possibly even N’Golo Kante, Marc Cucurella and Gallagher’s homegrown ace Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
Boehly has overseen deals that could add up to a staggering £606million this season.

And indeed January’s spending of almost £330m is more than the combined purchases of ALL clubs in the other Big Five leagues – Spain, Germany, Italy and France.
And despite the frenzy, ex-Chelsea player and manager Glenn Hoddle believes Thiago Silva is the only shoo-in starter.
The ex-Tottenham and England boss said: “He’s a must. But everyone else, it’s a mishmash.
“There is a lot of work to be done. He has beautiful material to make a beautiful suit, but it will take more time with so many new players.”
