Chelsea are set to announce Christopher Vivell as their new technical director two months after RB Leipzig’s sacking

According to reports from Germany, CHELSEA will announce Christopher Vivell as the club’s new technical director.
American boss Todd Boehly has been expanding his backroom staff since Roman Abramovich took office in May.

The scouting expert is expected to be announced soon after leaving RB Leipzig two months ago.
Vivell was sacked by Leipzig in October after holding a meeting with Chelsea bosses that same week.
The 36-year-old was technical director at the Bundesliga club from 2020 and was responsible for transfers and scouting.
But he left after announcing that a “contrast in views” was the reason for his departure.
He was previously at RB Salzburg, where he helped unearth Erling Haaland alongside Christoph Freund.
Chelsea also showed interest in Freund, but he was happy in Salzburg and decided to stay.
Vivell will be Boehly’s youngest hire following the arrival of new head of human resources, Joe Shields.

The billionaire businessman fired Thomas Tuchel in September and replaced him with Graham Potter.
Potter brought his backroom staff from Brighton and also welcomed the arrival of Paul Winstanley.
Winstanley has been appointed as the club’s director of global talent and transfers.
Boehly was forced out after Bruce Buck, Marina Granovskaia and Petr Cech left Chelsea shortly after Abramovich’s departure.
