Chelsea “are ready to secure the transfer of Kounde once the takeover is complete”, Christensen has previously withdrawn from the squad

Good morning Chelsea fans

An agreement has finally been reached between Roman Abramovich and the UK government to sell Chelsea, which will give the green light to Todd Boehly’s takeover of the football club.

The PA News Agency reports that the two parties have allegedly found a “legal solution” on how to deal with the £1.5 billion in debt Stamford Bridge Club owes to the outgoing Russian owner.

Abramovich had previously expressed his willingness to write off the loan, but Downing Street officials had expressed concerns the 55-year-old would not live up to that promise later.

The Premier League is now required to sign any sale of any of its clubs.

And Todd Boehly will make Jules Kounde of Seville his first purchase after completing his takeover at Chelsea.

A deal for the France defender – equally comfortable as a right-back or centre-back – is expected to cost the Blues around £60m and will be finalized once the club’s takeover is complete and its sanctions lifted towards the target.

Meanwhile, Thomas Tuchel has revealed that Conor Gallagher and Armando Broja will return to Chelsea next season.

Broja was loaned to Southampon and Gallagher to Crystal Palace.

But Tuchel insists the pair will be part of the Blues squad as better players next season.

Elsewhere, Chelsea ace Marcos Alonso is reportedly close to joining Barcelona.

Talks between Alonso and Barca are at an advanced stage, SPORT claim.

The report adds that the left-back has agreed a three-year deal to join the Catalan giants this summer.

Finally, Tuchel has attributed Chelsea’s indifferent season to the coronavirus, the Russia-Ukraine war and the resulting sanctions against the club.

He moaned: “We’ve been struggling with the coronavirus, with long-term injuries, a war that has hit our club hard, especially.

“There is always room for improvement, but we have arrived here [FA Cup] with key players, Mateo and N’Golo with just half a training session.

“There are a lot of things that are impressive about club sanctions.”
