A result that will almost feel like a win for the away team and a loss for the home team.

Expectations surrounding this revamped Chelsea team were in high gear ahead of this game, especially when news broke that both Mudryk and Enzo Fernandez were involved from the start.

But in the end, Graham Potter’s team made familiar mistakes as they struggled to create clear scoring chances at the business end of the pitch – a problem his Brighton side struggled with.

It was interesting that Potter felt he needed to hook Mudryk at half-time and replace him with his new boy Noni Madueke as he looked for his team to threaten Fulham more in the final third.

Fofana missed an almost open goal that would have given Chelsea all three points, so perhaps we shouldn’t be too harsh on the manager when his players miss chances like this.

However, Fulham were well organized and definitely earned the point they will take from Stamford Bridge.

The Cottagers are used to being the underdog in west London but are now taking the game to their wealthier, more historically successful rivals.

Next up for Chelsea is another London derby, this time against David Moyes’ West Ham – neither manager will want to be on the losing side in this one.

Fulham’s next Premier League appearance is a home game against Nottingham Forest.
