Australian football star Jackson Irvine was stunned when Casemiro recognized him.
The pair met backstage at the Fifa Football Awards.
And while Irvine didn’t take home any gongs, he could very well have been the night’s biggest winner.
The 30-year-old, who played in all four matches of Australia’s World Cup last year, arrived at the ceremony in a suit and boots as a member of FIFPRO’s Global Players Council.
Manchester United star Casemiro was there after being nominated for the World 11, an award voted for by other players for top footballers.

When the Australia international thanks the former Real Madrid midfielder for his time, Casemiro stops him and scores.
The 31-year-old said: “You play for Australia, no?”
A stunned Irvine replied: “Australia yes mate. Wow!”
Before leaving the room, Casemiro nods and says: “I see you. I see you.”

As soon as he disappears, a starstruck Irvine almost loses his composure as his friends join in the laughter.
He said: “I was like ‘no’. Buddy, I’m sweating.”
One of Irvine’s friends then jokes that he got red in the face.
Casemiro is among the most recognizable characters in European football, having made his mark after almost a decade at Real Madrid.
The Brazilian won five Champions League medals at the Bernabeu and hopes to repeat that winning streak at Old Trafford.
The club looked like they were on the way up again before Sunday’s shock 7-0 defeat stunned some fans.
