A HUNT has been launched after a topless man after a woman was sexually assaulted on a walk in the woods.

Police are asking for tips from anyone the man may have encountered last night.

Police were called to a footpath between Brood Road and Mill Lane in Cheadle, Stockport, around 6.40pm on Saturday night.

A woman was walking down a path behind Alexandra Hospital when she noticed a man walking behind her.

Officers were told the man walked towards them in the direction of Cheadle Mill before walking back.

He walked over to her, grabbed her butt, tugged at her t-shirt and hair.

The victim is supported.

Investigators are now hoping that a member of the public can help them with their investigation.

Detective Sergeant Matthew Tarr of Stockport CID said: “This was a frightening attack on a lone woman who was just out for a walk and is now extremely devastated.

“We are appealing to anyone who has seen or recognized the man depicted to come forward as they may be able to assist us with our ongoing investigation.”

Anyone with information who may have seen anything is asked to call the police or report it online.

Alternatively, those with information are encouraged to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting incident number 3017 dated 06/11/2022.
