Carson Daly is missing from the Today show as beloved co-host takes over the star’s on-air duties

Today Show host Carson Daly appeared absent on Thursday’s morning show.

Beloved co-host Sheinelle Jones took on the star’s on-air responsibilities.

On Thursday’s show, Sheinelle hosted the show’s PopStart segment.

She sat on the couch with Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb and Al Roker.

Carson is usually the go-to expert on all things pop culture, but the host was mysteriously absent.

Craig Melvin and Dylan Dreyer were also absent from the show.

However, Dylan appeared on the third hour of Today.

No reason was given as to why Carson or the others were absent.

It is also not yet clear whether he will be back on Friday.

GIRL POWER!

Sheinelle also took over from Craig this morning, leaving an all-female panel.

On Thursday’s show, Sheinelle sat behind the presenter’s desk with the two main co-hosts.

Craig usually comes to the Today Show in about 30 minutes to join the women and talk about big headlines.

Today, however, that job went to Sheinelle, who normally hosts the third hour of Today, with Craig, Al and Dylan.

An all-female panel is a rare occurrence on the show.

Craig gave no explanation for his absence.

And it’s suspicious considering he was there for the rest of the week.

It is unclear whether he will be back on Friday.

DALY’S DAY OFF!

Carson was on the show part-time during November and December while filming live shows for The Voice.

At Today in New York and The Voice in California, he was unable to attend both.

Well, while he was gone, Sheinelle filled in a lot for him.

Jacob Soboroff also ran the PopStart segment on certain days.

The star has hosted the show The Voice since 2011 and has been part of TODAY since 2013.

BEAUTIFUL DAD!

Carson also took time off last week to spend some quality time with his daughter.

The 49-year-old Instagrammer posted an adorable photo of Etta dressed in a blue hat and matching t-shirt to show her support for the New York Islanders.

He pictured the 10-year-old wearing her Islander insignia while in the UBS Arena merchandise store.

“It’s taking your oldest daughter to a New York Islanders hockey game night!” the Voice host wrote in the caption.

“I love my time with the kids at these games. Let’s go #islanders.”

Carson’s followers rushed to the comments, praising the busy Today star for making time with his daughter.

“Family time is the best memory with a wife and children,” wrote one.

“Creating great memories… so cute,” agreed another.

A third wrote: “Special time with each child individually is just that, SPECIAL and unforgettable.”

In addition to his roles in Today, The Voice and Beermaggedon, Carson is a father of four children with his wife Siri Pinter.

Carson and Siri, 42, have been married since 2015 but have actually been together for over a decade.
