Carnegie Mellon, University of Pittsburgh Updates Mask Guidelines – CBS Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Two of the largest universities in Pittsburgh are easing their COVID-19 rules and restrictions.

Carnegie Mellon University said masks will be optional for students who are fully vaccinated and boosted starting March 28.
The university is also lifting restrictions on both indoor and outdoor gatherings.

Pitt is also planning to relax its mask requirements.
The university said it would change its policies to better align with new guidance from the CDC that says masks are not needed in counties with low levels of COVID-19 transmission.

Pitt says they will give a date for that change next week.
