Carmen Salinas – who worked on the Mexican TV channel for more than six decades – has passed away
Mexican soap actress Carmen Salinas has died aged 82.
The TV star’s family announced her passing and shared that Carmen passed away after suffering a stroke.

Carmen was hospitalized with a stroke in November and on Thursday her grandson Gustavo Briones said she was being treated in intensive care.
Later, her daughter, Maria Eugenia Plascencia, told local media outside the hospital that she spoke to her mother, who was able to move her legs.
Three weeks ago, Carmen’s godchild, Jorge Nieto, told a radio station that the stroke left her with “irreversible damage”.

Al Dia reported that she was at her house watching her soap opera, when she started feeling sick and suddenly fainted. The people working at home found her unconscious, and she was immediately transported to the hospital.
Carmen has more than six decades of experience in Mexican television and cinema.
In 2015, she was elected to a seat in the Mexican Congress representing the Institutional Revolutionary Party.
