Carlos Sainz could be in doubt for the Monaco GP as the Ferrari F1 star is seen in bandages after suffering a soccer injury

CARLOS SAINZ could be in doubt for the Monaco Grand Prix after reportedly injuring himself at a benefit soccer match.

The Ferrari driver was one of several F1 stars involved in the match at the Stade Louis II alongside his team-mate Charles Leclerc.

But after being pictured with bandages around his leg, his participation in this weekend’s race could now be in doubt.

The Spaniard was on the hook just after an hour and was then seen having his leg treated.

However, it remains to be seen how serious the injury is.

Sainz was seen putting ice on his ankle after the 2022 edition charity game but didn’t miss it next race.

In case Sainz gets expelled Monaco Race, Ferrari reserve Antonio Giovinazzi marked his return to Formula 1 after last racing with Ferrari’s sister team Alfa Romeo in 2021.

Sainz, 28, sits fifth in the drivers’ standings this season while Ferrari are struggling to come close to matching the pace of leaders Red Bull.

The former McLaren driver is yet to claim a podium finish this season.

The closest he came was fourth place at the Bahrain Grand Prix on the opening weekend.

He has since finished sixth and twelfth before claiming back-to-back P5 results at the race Azerbaijan and Miami Grands Prix.

Joining Sainz and Leclerc at the soccer game were a number of other high-profile Formula 1 names.

These included Fernando Alonso, Pierre Gasly and F1 boss Stefano Domenicali.
