CHICAGO — A carjacked automobile was utilized in a sequence of armed robberies early Tuesday morning close to Humboldt Park.
Simply after 10:00 a.m., police responded to the 200 block of South Maplewood Avenue on the report of a carjacking. A 23-year-old man walked to the eleventh District and informed officers his 2020 black Chevy Impala was stolen at gunpoint by three males of their 20s carrying all black jumpsuits.
Police consider the automobile was then utilized in a number of armed robberies close to Humboldt Park and Wicker Park.
The primary one occurred at roughly 7:22 a.m. within the 900 block of North Richmond Avenue. Police mentioned a 31-year-old man was exiting his residence when a suspect carrying a masks and puffy jacket approached with a gun and robbed him.
Roughly 5 minutes later, a 28-year-old man was on a sidewalk within the 2700 block of West Division when he was approached by the identical man at gunpoint and robbed.
At round 7:30 a.m., a 44-year-old was robbed at gunpoint within the 2500 block of West Thomas. Police mentioned when the suspect was going again to the carjacked automobile when he noticed one other man and robbed him as nicely.
The spree continued at round 7:42 a.m. within the 1100 block of North Washtenaw Avenue when a lady was robbed at gunpoint whereas strolling her youngster to high school.
The final robberies occurred at round 7:50 a.m. within the 2400 block of West Walton. A 29-year-old man and his 31-year-old co-worker have been each robbed at gunpoint.

No accidents have been reported and the automobile was recovered at 8:10 a.m. within the 3300 block of West Walnut.
