Cannabis compounds could help fight, prevent and treat Covid when combined with vaccines, bombshell study suggests

A study shows that MARIJUANA compounds can help fight, prevent and treat Covid-19 when combined with vaccines.

The acids could be used as a “therapeutic agent” to block the way the virus enters cells, according to research published in the Journal of Natural Products, scientists say.

Acids that bind themselves to the spike protein found in Covid, the study revealed.

“They are not controlled substances like THC, the psychoactive ingredient in cannabis, and have good safety profile in humans,” said lead researcher Richard van Breemen.

These substances, he added, are abundant in hemp but are different from the acids found in hemp products.

The scientists said the acids were tested on both the Alpha and Beta Covid variants and were found to be “equally effective”.

The study warns that cannabis extract alone is not enough to prevent an unvaccinated person from contracting the virus. The researchers recommend that the acids be combined with the vaccine dose.

The study found that CGBA and CBDA “neutralize the virus” for high concentrations of the Covid sample.

The effectiveness of acids against smaller concentrations of the virus is not known.

Van Breemen warns that resistance variants can arise despite the use of cannabinoids.

The White House is ramping up efforts to “surge” military medical personnel to help overwhelmed medical facilities mitigate the impact of Omicron.

Hospitals across the country are struggling because of staff shortages as workers are forced to isolate due to the virus.

OMICRON ‘WILL FIND EVERYONE’

Janet Woodcock, of the Food and Drug Administration, has warned lawmakers in Congress that Omicron will infect “most people,” Related press report.

She said: “I think it’s hard to process what’s really happening right now, which is: Most people will get COVID, okay?

“What we need to do is make sure hospitals can still function – transportation, other essential services are not disrupted while this happens.”

And Anthony Faucice, Biden’s top medical director, warned that Omicron would eventually “find everyone,” CNN report.

The boffin told J. Stephen Morrison, of the Center for Strategic and International Studies: “People who have been vaccinated and boosted will be exposed.

“Some, possibly a lot of them, will get infected but it will very likely happen, with some exemptions consistent with the no-hospital and mortality implications.”

Reportedly, more than 145,000 people were hospitalized with Covid across the country on Tuesday.

That’s a statistic higher than the previous peak of 142,246 reported last January, according to the Department of Health and Human Services.

More than 754,000 daily Covid-19 cases have been reported on average over the past week, Johns Hopkins University data reveals.

Omicron accounts for 98.3% of new infections, according to estimates published by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

However, only 23 percent of Americans received both the vaccine and booster doses.

Vaccine efficacy & Omicron

Expert studies have shown that the risk of severe illness from Covid-19 is reduced by 90% or more in fully vaccinated people.

While there have been breakthrough cases of Covid in vaccinated people, they are rare.

In the event of a breakthrough case, it is highly unlikely that the victim will be hospitalized with severe symptoms or die from the virus.

Health officials have recommended that the Omicron variant is more infectious and could lead to further breakout cases.

However, the spread could be offset by all vaccinated Americans getting a booster shot.

Current vaccines are expected to protect against severe illness, hospitalization, and death from infection with the Omicron variant.

With other variants, like Delta, the vaccine is still effective in preventing severe illness, hospitalization, and death.

Studies have also shown that side effects from vaccines are extremely rare.
