CANELO ALVAREZ has ruled out moving up to the heavyweight division – despite his upcoming debut in the cruiser weight class.
Mexican Will bid to be the world champion in five weight classes next year against the 200lb WBC king Ilunga Makabu.
The shocking weight gain of the super-middleweight champion made boxing fans think he was capable of jumping into the weight class.
But the king of boxing has no intention of mixing it up with the big boys of the boxing village.
He said: “I’m happy to keep making history, keep looking for a challenge, it’s a dangerous challenge but I love that kind of challenge.
“A year ago I said there’s no cruiser class and here we are, so I don’t think so (to hit heavyweight) but with Eddy, sometimes I don’t know.
“I don’t think so. Not a possibility, my body is not arbitrary.”
Canelo, 31, is enjoying the opportunity to continue to establish himself as one of the greatest Mexican boxers of all time, but he doubts he will ever hit the 200lb cruiser weight limit.

“For many people there is a limit, but not for me,” he said.
“I want to thank (Makabu) for the opportunity to fight for this title and continue to make history, putting another star in my career.
“But I can’t (hit 200 pounds), maybe 180, that would be fine.”
Canelo made history earlier this month by becoming the first undisputed 168lb champion with a Win KO in round 11 against Caleb Plant.
He said of his historic victory: “The year 2021 is special, to unify this division, which no one has ever achieved.
“Being among the six in boxing history (the undisputed championship), was the first Latino.
“For me, it was the best year.
“I am very happy and proud to represent all Mexicans and now it is my turn to do what I want.
“Now it’s true that I faced all the world champions at 168 and I took the title from them all and now I can do whatever I want.”
