The picture was taken by the artist Simon Menner, who received permission to watch snipers in action with the armies of Germany, Latvia and Lithuania.

It shows a handful of trees in an overgrown field with a cleverly concealed soldier taking position with a high-powered rifle.

If you look closely, you can just make out a small hill somewhere in the picture.

Blending in with your surroundings is as much a part of a sniper’s training as learning to hit a target from a mile away.

You must be able to survive alone or in pairs over rough terrain.

Simon spent six years following snipers on training exercises to capture their remarkable ability to blend in with their surroundings.

He watched them help each other create their “ghillie suits,” using natural elements like leaves and dead grass to match any landscape.

At first glance, the photographer’s series of images – known as the Disappearing Act – seem like quiet and sometimes eerie landscapes, from sunny meadows to mist-shrouded mountains.

A sniper lurks in every picture, his gun pointed directly at the camera.

If you need a clue to finding the sniper in this idyllic grassy setting, look for the small hill to the left of the trees.

The shooter is circled in a follow-up image below.

It comes as a TikToker known for clever brain teasers and tricky optical illusions posted a video that few people can understand.

And another viral TikTok illusion video urged viewers to spot the sniper hiding on a rocky mountainside.

Meanwhile, one clip shows a cloaked gunman in a forest clearing, invisible until he moves to reveal himself.
