THE host of the hugely successful Call Her Daddy podcast has made a bold business move by launching a new talent network.
Alex Cooper wants to expand her influence by hiring young creatives and producing more podcasts under The Unwell Network label.
The network is under larger business company Trending — a Gen Z-focused media company founded by Cooper and her fiancé, Matt Kaplan, the CEO of ACE Entertainment.
The Unwell Network aims to help aspiring personalities book media opportunities in pop culture, beauty, fashion and lifestyle, led by former Studio71 CEO Moorea Mongelli. meeting reports.
It has already signed social media influencers Alix Earle and Madeline Argy, both of whom have millions of followers on Instagram and TikTok.
“I have an unusual and amazing relationship with my audience,” Cooper said. “We have this trust-based connection and bond that allows us to cover all sorts of subjects in a way that is neither exclusive nor intrusive.”
“We live in a world where we are inundated with content, but The Unwell Network will be the resource everyone can turn to for unique perspectives and what matters most to this generation today.”
The network took off with a bang, racking up over 100,000 followers less than 24 hours after Instagram launched.
Earle was chosen after garnering 8.5 million followers on TikTok and Instagram for her humorous Get Ready With Me videos and storytelling.
And Argy is a welcome addition, having built a following with wellness advice and lip-sync videos.
“I’m very excited to announce the first of many creators in the Unwell Network family,” said Cooper. “Alix Earle and Madeline Argy both have unique presences that engage audiences, but I love how they approach content in very different ways.”
“I’m honored to be at a point in my career where I can share knowledge and advice so a new generation of creatives can thrive.”
Mongelli will serve as President of The Unwell Network, where she will be responsible for attracting talent and publishing all podcasts.
The network she used to work for produced series like The Bald and the Beautiful, starring Trixie and Katya.
“I’m very excited to launch the Unwell Network with Alex and Matt,” said Mongelli. “We’ve rounded up a series of hosts that we know will long change content as we know it.
“Our team is excited to offer Gen Z audiences content tailored specifically for them. I am willing to get my hands dirty and maximize our audience and revenue through carefully calculated marketing, development and monetization.”
