Play was paused to give the individual time to recover before being taken to an ambulance, the ESPN writer reports Paul Uggetti.
The PGA Tour discussed resuming play with players, some uninterested in continuing.
Amateur Lukas Nelson, whose caddy fell ill, revealed he was “getting better” after receiving medical attention.
The caddy carried racquets for four players – two amateurs and two pros – who were just over halfway through their round.
Nelson and Geoff Couch as amateurs while Max McGreevy and Beau Hossler were the pros.
McGreevy told ESPN that the caddy “collapsed in the middle of the fairway and they tried to get his bag off of him quickly so they could attempt CPR.”
Shortly after, it was reported that the group was allowed to take a break from their round and have since returned to the clubhouse to regroup.
It’s unclear if they will return to the course to complete their second lap.
