Burnley star plays the bongos on his team-mate’s bum in wild celebrations after winning the championship

BAILEY PEACOCK-FARRELL played Connor Roberts butt like bongos as Burnley celebrated winning the championship.

After already guaranteeing promotion earlier this month, Vincent Kompany’s side had an opportunity to clinch the title with a trip to bitter local rivals Blackburn tonight.

Manuel Benson’s goal in the 66th minute was enough to achieve just that and secure a valuable 1-0 win on enemy territory.

The final whistle set off wild celebrations as the Clarets toasted their brilliant season.

Manager Kompany was thrown into the air by jubilant stars.

While the players performed belly slides towards the overjoyed away game.

Burnley stars took part in an Icelandic thunderclap routine with their traveling fans.

And Captain Jack Cork held up an inflatable trophy.

Roberts and Peacock-Farrell found a new way to celebrate their triumph.

The Wales international squirmed around his team-mate and Peacock-Farrell grinned as he drummed his butt like he was playing bongos.

Even gaffer Kompany interfered with a knee slide toward the guest end.

After the game, the delighted Belgian said: “I don’t know if the lads realize it – I think Jay Rod (riguez) knows, he realizes what it means to the people of Burnley.

“You couldn’t write it to win the title at Ewood Park.

“A day that will live forever for us and a tremendous achievement.”

Adding to his side’s wild reactions: “You have to celebrate, 44 games in, it’s a ridiculous season so the lads have to celebrate.”

Kompany’s exceptional management of the Clarets this season has attracted interest from the likes of Tottenham and Chelsea.

But SunSport revealed last night that the 37-year-old has told staff he plans to remain at Turf Moor.
