CHAOS has erupted in the sentencing of Buffalo mass shooter Payton Gendron after an emotional family member of one of the victims pounced on the suspect.
A stone-cold Gendron showed no emotion as family members of victims made heartbreaking statements to him during Wednesday’s sentencing.
Victim’s grandchild Ruth Whitfield, 86, ripped the suspect apart in court, calling him a “cowardly racist” and recounting how her grandmother went to Tops supermarket on that fateful day to buy seeds for her garden.
On May 14, 2022, Gendron drove up to five hours from Conklin, about 200 miles southeast of Buffalo, to that particular area of new Yorkwhich is a predominantly black community.
Authorities said the then 18-year-old was heavily armed and wearing tactical gear and a camera used to livestream the bloody shooting on social media platform Twitch.
The US Sun at the time viewed vivid video footage of the incident, which shows victims being gunned down in the parking lot and in the store at close range.
Gendron killed his victims with a semi-automatic rifle that he legally acquired.
A deranged 180-page racist manifesto allegedly written by the suspect was also in circulation, which has not been independently verified by The US Sun.
Buffalo Police Commissioner Joseph Gramaglia announced at the time that the confused gunman was planning to drive to another store for a second attack.
