Brittney Griner looks shaken as her sentence in Russian prison is extended by 6 months and faces 10 years in prison

BRITTNEY Griner looked shaken as she appeared in court on Monday to set a date for her trial in a case that could see her jailed for up to 10 years.

The US WNBA basketball superstar made a public appearance in a Russian court today as officials set a date for her months of probation.

The trial is set to begin on July 1, according to the Associated Press.

Griner was also ordered to remain in detention pending her trial.

Griner was seen entering the Moscow courthouse in handcuffs, wearing glasses and a gray T-shirt.

She was arrested at Sheremetyevo Airport in February, a week before Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine.

Griner was accused of inserting vape cartridges containing cannabis-derived oils through security.

News of their detention only came out in March.

US officials and the WNBA remained silent until the State Department reclassified Griner as “wrongly detained.”
