Britney Spears and Sam Asghari “argued before the divorce about her refusal to take her medication” and her “alcohol use.”

According to a source, BRITNEY Spears’ marriage to Sam Asghari was marred by arguments over her refusing to take medication and drinking.

Concerned Asghari, 29, encouraged the Toxic singer to return to a “regulated medication regimen for anxiety and depression” similar to the one she was on during her 13-year conservatory years, a source tells The US Sun.

The fitness trainer-turned-actor is also growing frustrated with Britney’s drinking, the insider said.

The revelations came after Asghari filed for divorce last week after 14 months of marriage to the pop princess.

The couple married in June last year after 41-year-old Britney was released from her father Jamie’s guardianship in November 2021.

A source told The US Sun: “Without the right medication, Britney is not doing well.

“Regardless of what she tells her conservatory judge or reassures fans, she needs stability from a very regimented drug regimen.

“After her discharge from the conservatory, she tried to break free from drug addiction.

“However, this has caused a lot of problems over the last year as their behavior has become erratic, violent and even dangerous.

“Sam urged her to seek more therapy and even to find a psychotherapist who wasn’t from her past who could help her resolve her issues and stabilize her mind.

“He was also very urging her to go back to taking medication to help manage her anxiety and mood swings.”

The source continued: “But Britney’s experience under the Conservatory’s leadership has made her anxious and nervous about medication.

“When Sam pressed her, there would be arguments. Britney would accuse him of “being like my father and wanting control”.

“Sam was marginalized even though his intentions were good.”

“DRINKING PROBLEM”

In addition to going off her medication, Britney’s alcohol consumption also became a problem.

During her conservatory years – which came after a very public fight against drug abuse – she was banned from drinking.

After completing her conservatory years, Britney revealed that she celebrated with a glass of champagne at celebrity hotspot Catch Restaurant in West Hollywood.

And in July last year, she claimed it was her first time going to a bar to enjoy a cocktail.

The source told the US Sun: “Britney has been drinking and it’s also affecting her mind.

“Sam wanted her to avoid alcohol because it triggers her mood swings.

“He suspected that she was also tempted by drugs.

“He feared that if she slipped into an addiction, something terrible would happen.

“There was talk of some kind of intervention in the spring, but Sam was concerned about the impact that might have on her as well.”

The US Sun reached out to Britney and Sam’s reps for comment.
