British pensioner, 77, beaten to death by burglars at his Spanish home as police hunt suspects

A BRITISH pensioner has died after being beaten to death by burglars who broke into his Spanish home.
The 77-year-old was taken to hospital after being attacked by burglars around 7pm on Sunday evening in Estepa, near Seville.
He was admitted to the nearby Merced Hospital in Osuna but died in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Police have confirmed the victim was a British expat while investigators hunt down those responsible.
The dead Man has only been identified by his initials – AHB.
Last year, an 80-year-old British pensioner was shot dead in her apartment on the Costa Blanca.
Concerned neighbors are believed to have called the police when they found her body after a plumber stopped by on an arranged visit and received no reply when he knocked on the front door.
Well-informed sources said the victim lived alone for several years after her husband’s death.
A source close to the investigation said the possibility that she was shot dead by burglars during a violent break-in had not been ruled out.
