British Airways no longer allows pilots to take snapshots or post them online while flying jets

BRITISH Airways yesterday urged pilots to stop taking photos or posting them online while flying jets.

Bosses insisted selfies at 30,000ft were a no-no in an update on social media usage.

But it caused turbulence when Captain Dave Wallsworth went public about the ban on working cockpit pictures.

He said: “Unfortunately, due to new guidelines, myself and my colleagues are no longer allowed to post if they are ‘professionally engaged in our job’.

So that’s the end of my flying posts, photos and videos.

“Thanks for all the lovely comments.”

Kate Bevan said: “Oh no, that’s ridiculous – your posts are a fantastic commitment.”

Samuel Carvalho added: “It’s a great shame. BA, these pilots do nothing but promote your brand in a positive light.”

Some employees have built a huge following with their images and clips.

Ex-cabin crew Laura Anderson and Amy Hart went on Love Island.

BA said: “We didn’t stop anyone from posting anything. We just clarified what is appropriate.

“You are responsible for the safety of everyone when flying, for example.

“It’s not unreasonable to ask to wait until their break to take photos.”
