Mr McKinnon died while Mr Jackson, 72, was taken to hospital following Saturday’s incident, the Mail reports.
According to a local source, the two were at Steve’s Bar in Soufrière when masked gunmen fired on them.
Mr McKinnon from Scotland and Mr Jackson from Lancashire both moved to the island a few years ago and became citizens.
A local resident told the St Lucia Times: “Everyone knew her. They were people from the church. That’s sad.”

Mr. Jackson, a photographer, has lived in St. Lucia for more than three decades.
Mr McKinnon, meanwhile, managed the former Soufriere Estate work plantation on the island.
Cops on the island are investigating the alleged attack.
A police spokesman said: “We are investigating this shooting.
“We’re talking to people who were there and might have seen something.
“We will leave no stone unturned while we fully investigate this.”
