Brit, 26, arrested for ‘raping woman’ at Magaluf hotel and ‘headbutt cop’ trying to arrest him

A Briton has been arrested on suspicion of raping a woman in a hotel room in Mallorca.

The 26-year-old is said to have resisted arrest and headbutted one of the officers summoned.

The alleged rape occurred at a hotel in the popular holiday resort of Santa Ponsa, near Magaluf.

A friend of the woman who allegedly suffered the sexual assault alerted a receptionist around 7pm on Friday, who called the police.

She told officers the man being held tried to force her into the room after she raped her pal.

The victim was taken to Son Espases Hospital.

It was not immediately clear if the suspect had already appeared in court and if he was being held in custody or released on bail pending ongoing investigations.

The nationality of the woman allegedly raped was not disclosed.
