Sid contributed to a post about public marriage proposals in sports arenas.

Meredith asked Sid, “Would you do it?”

Sid looked outraged and replied, “Never. I’m the type to scream don’t do it.”

The producers could be heard chuckling and his co-host laughed before looking at the table: “Right.”

Sid continued: “There are always about nine guys or people screaming, ‘Don’t do that!’, and I think it’s funny every time.”

Meredith looked confused, “What would make you do that from a male perspective?”

He replied: “Looking at these prices, I can’t answer that question. We are bringing this up because a survey was conducted at sports venues across America.”

“How much would it actually cost?” We talk about tickets, we talk about proposals for the Jumbotron, we talk about all that stuff.”

Sid explained: “Scotia Bank Arena was $411. This must be love.”

“On ethical grounds alone, I would say that publicly making suggestions at a sporting event without considering the costs is a bad idea.”

Sid became more and more passionate and made hand gestures towards the camera.

“These costs make it idiotic to me. You can’t spend money on such a bad idea,” he said, slamming his hand on his desk.

He concluded: “Just understand, if you think about it, I know you’re in love and it’s a special time for you, then you’re making a big mistake.”

Sid gave viewers one final impassioned warning: “Just don’t do it. Just do not.”

This live warning came after Sid teased his weekend antics after claiming he had the “craziest” weekend with Meredith.

Sid sat next to Tammie Sutherland as they discussed their weekends on Monday’s episode.

The newsreader said: “I had a lovely weekend. I had dinner on Friday.”

He continued: “Mer and I went out to dinner with our significant others on Friday. It was wonderful.”

Tammie gushed, “Oh, beautiful.”

Sid said, “I will give you details about it. It was one of the craziest dinners I’ve had in my entire life.”
