Bradford boss Mark Hughes is looking to make sought-after Barnsley striker George Miller his first signing

MARK HUGHES is considering a move for Barnsley’s George Miller on a free transfer.

Miller, who is out of contract this summer, spent last season in the second tier with Walsall, scoring 12 league goals in 41 games.

The striker, who has had two spells in fourth place at Bradford, has also attracted Stockport’s interest.

They could return to the EFL by winning the National League on Sunday.

Miller was on loan from Middlesbrough to Bradford for the 2018/19 season.

But he was only halfway through that deal when Boro flogged him to Barnsley for £200,000.

The Tykes agreed to let him watch the Valley Parade for the remainder of the season.

But despite that keen interest, Miller only scored three goals in 28 games.

Bradford were relegated from League One and finished 24th with 41 points from 46 games.

But Miller would be joining a very different club this time.

The appointment of former Blackburn and Stoke boss Hughes caused quite a stir at League Two level.

And big changes off the field at board level and in many parts of the club seem to have fans believing in the Bantams again.
