‘Boxing is run by dinosaurs’ – Jack Catterall hits ‘sickening’ BBBofC comments after fighting controversial Josh Taylor

JACK CATTERALL believes ‘boxing is run by dinosaurs’ as he claims there is ‘corruption’ in the sport following his controversial defeat to Josh Taylor.

Instant fanstook to social media to express their anger about scoringbecause they labeled it ‘one of the worst boxing decisions ever’.

And WBC Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury requested NO British umpire to mark his fight with Dillian Whyte the next month.

Shocking results led toBritish Boxing Control Board to investigate the resultswith the penalty area referees being asked to explain their cards.

However, BBBofC director Robert Smith has stated that the decision cannot be overturned.

That is though he admits he thinks Catterall won the fight, but only in a small way.

His comments angered Catterall, who said talkSPORT: “After listening to Robert Smith, I got sick.

“I have great respect for Rob and the Boxing Council, but I am losing faith in them.

“Robert Smith said the war was near – there wasn’t a single other person, promoter, journalist, broadcaster, battle fan who even ended the war from afar.

“For him to say that the war is over, it just hurts me.

“I don’t know what game he’s watching, we’ve all seen the reaction from the promoters, from Sky, from the commentators. It’s just sick. ”

He added: “You heard Robert Smith later say the decision would not be overturned.

“It’s something I’ve worked for for 18 years – for my family, for my legacy.

“It changed the life what came after – the massive PPV battles. Now it’s all just pulled from below me.

“I find myself now going back to the dissection order, back to square one, where I was two/three years ago, not knowing what the future holds.”

Catterall continued: “I think there’s a lot of underdog in boxing and the way it’s regulated. And I also believe that there is some kind of corruption.

“I’m not sure where it’s coming from right now. I have an attorney working with us and hope we get some kind of justice.

“It will never bring Saturday night, but something needs to be done, someone needs to find out where the corruption is coming from and how we can get it out of the sport.

“Boxing is run by dinosaurs, nothing has changed in the last 50/100 years.

“We’ve seen it in fights before, we’ve all watched and said, ‘The man made the wrong decision.’

“They said, ‘Oh, we’ll have an investigation.’ Nothing has ever come out of it and it cannot continue to happen.”
