Boris Johnson must drop the NI tax raid and cut the VAT to win back the economic trump card

Tax attack

THE Tories should be proven that Keir Starmer can now justifiably brand them as the high-tax party.

We never thought that Labor, after allowing the public finances to collapse in 2010, would be able to claim the high position of the economy. But we are here.

Tories should be confirmed that they can now be branded on the high tax side

And that is Boris Johnson’s Desperate for the cost of living, Partygate and many others argue that his arguments are fragmented.

He told The Sun that Maggie Thatcher fans should applaud his April National Insurance increase after Covid borrowed so much. But why?

Maggie will never lift the overall burden to a 70-year high, nor demand new taxes from working people already staring down the barrel of skyrocketing prices, bills and mortgages.

She could have streamlined Government, cut costs and accelerated growth with LOWER taxes.

It’s ridiculous how the Prime Minister brags that Brexit allows him to cut VAT on our crippling energy bills.

So far he has chosen NOT to do. Indeed, it is one of many Brexit advantages that he refuses to seize.

It’s still funny to suggest Labor can be trusted in the economy.

Starmer’s foolishly tried to install a dilapidated Marxist to run the Treasury, Venezuelan style, just over two years ago.

But how recklessly the Tories lost their economic trump card.

And how ineffectual their solution to our inflated bills looks: Some are discounted, swallowed up by the looming tax bill.

We hope Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has something better to announce today.

The Sun first protested the National Insurance increase last fall, long before that became fashionable.

It looks worse now than it did then.

Mask voucher

LABOUR opportunists rage at the Tory PPE accusations of “wasting” blasting their claims to be a grown-up party ready to take power.

More than half of the £8.7 billion figure is simply a drop in the value of equipment purchased when Covid first launched and prices were sky-high.

To attack Tory overspending is now completely juvenile

Much of the rest is unavoidable due to severe shortages PPE and urgent hospitals and care homes need it.

Tories threw money at it to save lives.

Labor knows this too.

Most especially because in 2020 they have been calling on the Government to secure this device from anywhere including amateurs and opportunistically rank on the list of alleged vendors they have work together.

To attack Tory overspending is now completely juvenile.

But when Captain Hindsight leads, his minions follow.

Big order

BA promotes the magic potion that solves our health problems.

Not the Covid stabs, as good as they are.
