WFH & mask will stay for at least 3 more weeks
COVID rules requiring people to work from home and wear face masks indoors will stay for an extra three weeks after Boris Johnson stuck with Plan B.
The Prime Minister today insisted “balanced” measures are needed to help combat the “rapidly” rise in Omicron cases and hospital admissions.
Another 194,747 Covid cases were recorded today, with the infection spreading rapidly among vulnerable older patients.
Mr Johnson told the Commons: “So in light of the latest data, the Cabinet agreed this morning that we should stick with Plan B for another three weeks, with a further review before the regulations. expires January 26.”
But in an upbeat outlook, he ruled out a return to the fat war and warned crippling restrictions would send a bad ball into livelihoods.
H praise from MPs who hate the Tory lockdown, he said: “The strikes are not free.
“They take a heavy toll on our physical and mental health, on our businesses, jobs and livelihoods, and worst, on our children’s chances of survival.
“So this government doesn’t believe we need to shut down our country again.”
