BORIS Johnson has been accused of violating three Covid lockdown rules during a late dinner date with his wife Carrie last year.

A source has said the couple was at a fashionable London restaurant until 10:25pm – although curfew imposed 10 p.m. closing.

At the time, venues in the capital were subject to strict regulations, which required diners to wear masks when moving in restaurants and a ban on different households mixing at tables.

But he is also said to have breached those curbs.

The Prime Minister and his wife enjoyed an evening out on October 21 last year at Darby’s, a mile from Downing Street.

Covid cases in London are on “an uphill path” with rates doubling every ten days.

The source said: “The staff took great care to make sure they closed by 10pm. The bill was sent to the Prime Minister’s desk at around 9:40 a.m. But by 10 p.m. Boris, Carrie and their security team remained seated.

“Some of the staff approached the security, saying, ‘We need to clean the house.

“The staff were very nervous and you could see them trying to politely say it was closing time.

“But Boris spoke deeply and eventually left the facility through the emergency exit at 10:25pm.”

The Prime Minister is said to have arrived at the site around 8:15pm – along with his then girlfriend Carrie, who arrived a quarter of an hour earlier.

He was accompanied by security guards and sat in a separate dining area.

Boris is said to have enjoyed a £12 Negroni cocktail – a mix of gin, Campari and vermouth – before ordering a £23 Hereford beef and bone marrow bun.

The source continued: “At one point, Boris went out to tour other parties in the main dining room. Sometimes he doesn’t wear a mask and he talks to a few customers while standing at their tables.

“There are customers who complain to the staff, which causes them stress. They said, “Why isn’t he wearing a mask?”

The source also revealed that in the evening, Carrie’s mother had just caught up with friends having dinner nearby, adding: “Friends had wandered off to talk to the PM and his wife. They all stood up to the table to chat for about 15 minutes and that’s when some of the staff started getting annoyed. They’re trying to say, ‘Can you sit down?’ while taking others for the sake of households that shouldn’t have set up the mixing table.

“The general consensus is that it’s one rule for them and another for us.”

At one point, an employee is said to have spoken to the Prime Minister about this.

In his speech to Parliament just before his dinner, the Prime Minister urged everyone to play their part by adhering to the curbs, urging: “I have no doubt, together, we will success.” Anyone who violates the Tier Two limit faces criminal penalties and unlimited fines. The statements have added pressure on the Prime Minister after a week affected by the crisis.

Watchdogs have fined the Tory party £17,800 for not correctly reporting the contribution paid for the refurbishment of a Downing Street flat.

Boris has since been accused by Labor of lying to his own standards adviser about how the work was funded.

And the Prime Minister’s adviser Allegra Stratton was in tears after being caught on film laughing about the secret Christmas party No 10 last December. There is no hint that Boris was present that night.

No 10 said of the restaurant visit: “It is clearly untrue to suggest that the Prime Minister did not comply with the curfew rule at that time. Any small delay could be for operational security reasons. “
