However, Thomas Tuchel revealed today that it is a false positive.

And after testing again, Jorginho recorded a negative result.

That means he can take part in training on tuesday with the rest of his Chelsea teammates.

And Jorginho is now set to be pushed into the starting line-up to help ease Tuchel’s injury and the Covid crisis, with the Blues set. no NINE players of the first team.

Tuchel confirmed: “Nobody went back there except Jorginho because he had tested negative so it was obviously a false positive. He’s back in training.

“Andreas Christensen is doubted a lot due to injury and so is Trevoh Chalobah.

“They (the academy players) trained with us yesterday and today. We invited them over for two training sessions, because it was necessary.

“When we brought them in, we found out that Lewis Baker was Covid positive, so another player was absent. So we also take the risk of bringing in other players from the academy who have that (Covid).

“This is the situation. To have a team with 13 or 14 players for a game, this is a problem but not a big deal.

“We could do it and we could fight, but from the game we let Trevoh Chalobah get injured. We have him in great doubt. We have N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic involved.

“They can’t just start with five games in two weeks or three games in a week, that’s simply not possible. So the problem will increase, the situation will increase and we cannot let the player suffer because the other players are not there. It is simply not possible.

“We have to protect our players and protect their health and that’s why we brought in the academy. [players]. It’s no secret and we’re thinking about playing with them.”
