Bodycam footage launched of lethal CPD capturing of man following home name


CHICAGO — Bodycam footage was launched Tuesday of a lethal capturing of a person wielding a knife by Chicago police final month.

COPA has been investigating the capturing because it occurred on Sept. 19. The capturing occurred shortly after 11 a.m. within the 6500 block of South Harvard Avenue.

In accordance with police, officers were responding to a domestic disturbance and encountered Turell Brown, 28.

Bodycam footage, launched by COPA Tuesday, exhibits Brown waving a knife at police seconds earlier than the capturing.

“Put it down dude, put that knife down, put it down,” an officer stated earlier than pictures have been fired.

As he approaches the officers, one fires his gun 3 times.

His girlfriend referred to as police to report that Brown hit her.

“He hit me all by my face, punched me on my facet, every part,” the girl informed police after they arrived “He pulled a knife on me too. I need him out of my home and I’m urgent costs on him.”

CPR was carried out on the scene, however Brown died from the capturing.
