Body language expert says Brian Laundrie’s parents show ‘unusually united front and little emotional expression’ after autopsy

A body language expert said BRIAN Laundrie’s parents showed an “unusually united front” and showed little emotion after their son’s autopsy.

Chris and Roberta Laundrie were photographed at a Walmart store on Tuesday after it was revealed their son, 23, had died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Body language expert, Patti Wood, says Chris and Roberta Laundrie have established an unusual'unified front' following the death of their son Brian Laundrie

Body language expert Patti Wood, who has analyzed the Laundrie family before, looked at photos of Chris and Roberta shopping and said the pair were “very close” based on how close they were. closeness of their body.

In the photo, Chris and Roberta in casual clothes walk past the store and push a shopping cart. Both were wearing masks while Roberta held a purse.

The Laundries stand face-to-face in one of the photos, which Wood claims is their “desire to connect” even while in public.

“You don’t always see that in couples,” Wood said. “Often one person is walking in front of the other or calling the other from another aisle. You don’t really see this direct connection.”

But Wood says it’s not just their faces that show how close they are, but how close their bodies are to each other.

“Obviously they know each other and they have a close relationship even if you don’t know they’re a couple,” she said.

Wood thinks that the direction of the feet of couples is very important.

She notes that in most of the photos, Chris and Roberta either have their feet pointed at each other or they’re walking in sync.

“It’s the most primitive part of the body,” says Wood. “It is the most honest part of the body because it is under the least conscious control.”

Like the rest of their bodies, Laundry’s feet are facing each other. Because of the pair’s closeness, Wood says it once again shows how close they are to each other.

In one of the photos, Roberta’s foot is pointed directly at Chris’s, which Wood says she was looking to connect with him at the time.

IN SYNC

Another oddity of the pair that Wood points to is how synchronized their movements are. In the photos, both Chris and Roberta have their arms in a similar position.

“They match and mirror each other,” Wood said, adding that it was more apparent when the pair walked in sync.

“Walking is a very different kind of analysis,” she says. “Because when you’re walking, your emotional brain and your critical brain are working together as you move through space.”

Wood, who has read thousands of celebrity couples, says it’s harder to keep that synchronization consistent while you’re walking if you’re forging that personal connection.

“The way it reflects on a relationship is often very revealing.”

Since the laundromat is running in sync, Wood believes the two of them have a good relationship and doesn’t fake their closeness with each other.

“Because there’s so much going on with the feet, little things can be revealed if either of you pretends.”

Wood watched as Chris and Roberta pointed their hands toward each other, almost as if they were holding hands.

“Their arms are facing each other, their fingers are really close.”

Wood calls this “symbolic reach,” in which two people, even when their hands aren’t actually touching, keep their arms and hands close.

“They basically want to hold hands,” she said, adding that it could be a symbol of the two trying to comfort each other when they are in public.

One thing Wood points to as “unusual” between the couple is that they have shown no sign of publicly mourning their son.

Usually during stressful or traumatic events, such as the death of a child, Wood says, oftentimes, the female is “completely devastated” while the male holds onto or comforts the other.

But Wood says she hasn’t seen Roberta in “shrink mode,” which she finds amusing.

“It’s not super-typical, but not in an unhealthy way.”

This revelation coincides with what the public already knows about the Laundrie family. The couple is tight-lipped to the media about their son, speaking only through their attorney Steven Bertolino.

Bertolino said the couple were “heartbroken” when Brian’s remains were discovered in October.

ROBERTA’S COURSE

Wood said it was “interesting” that Roberta appeared holding her purse in some of the photos.

“That wallet was a great protector for her,” she said, pointing out that Roberta was symbolically “shielding” her vulnerable body part.

She notes that Roberta keeps the purse away from her husband, which Wood says is because she doesn’t need to shield her from Chris.

“Sometimes I see women blocking their partner’s wallet while they’re in public, but I don’t see that here.”

The expert said that the couple’s “orientation” shows their connection to each other, and the way Roberta holds her wallet is said to want to block everyone else except Chris.

Roberta seemed to hang her head while Chris pushed the cart.

Wood said this was because she knew he was being photographed while Chris held his head high and was looking straight ahead.

That suggests more than the “blocking” behavior Wood talked about earlier, but also underscores Roberta’s “comfort” with Chris.

Even with the analysis, Wood said she couldn’t make any statements about what the future might look like for Laundry. She said that, so far, Chris and Roberta have shown immense support for each other during this stressful time.

“Although I couldn’t have predicted it because the circumstances were so extreme, I can say that the language they express to each other is not something I’ve seen in other couples in similar situations. “
