Bobby Lashley thinks only he can beat Brock Lesnar

Bobby Lashley believes he is the only one capable of “breaking” Brock Lesnar and won the WWE Championship.

Lesnar won the title from Big E in an impromptu 5-way match at WWE 1st of this month. The Beast Incarnate was originally planned to challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at the event. However, WWE had to cancel the match after Reigns’ positive COVID-19 test result.

Lashley will face Lesnar for the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble on January 29. When asked on Corey Graves’ After the bell podcast if he can “break” his opponent, The All Mighty gave a confident answer.

“I think so,” Lashley said, “If I didn’t do it, nobody would. He’s at a point where he won’t be Brock Lesnar for another 10 years. Brock is also limited to many years. Even though he’s on a very light schedule, he won’t keep coming back for 20 years and turning into old Brock. If he can’t be Brock, he won’t come back.”

Lashley and Lesnar have competed in professional wrestling and mixed martial arts for the past two decades. On this week’s episode of RAW, Lashley accused his opponent of intentionally avoiding confronting him in both the wrestling and MMA worlds.

Why have Bobby Lashley and Brock Lesnar never faced off against each other?

Bobby Lashley worked for WWE from 2005 to 2008 before returning to the company in 2018. In contrast, Brock Lesnar’s original WWE main roster lasted from 2002 to 2004. He then returned to the regular circle. in 2012 after three years of fighting in the UFC.

While Lashley also competes in MMA, his fights do not take place in the promotion like Lesnar. Thus, their path only crossed for the first time when both were assigned to the RAW list in 2018.

In the past, Lashley looked set to face Lesnar at SummerSlam 2018, but the Hurt Business member lost his number one contender match to Roman Reigns. As a result, The Big Dog challenged Lesnar instead. Otherwise, the two strong contenders won’t be entering any WWE storylines together until this month.
