This is the bloody moment a killer whale ripped out its 30ft opponent’s tongue before drowning them to the death in a ferocious fight.
The orcas were captured in dramatic drone footage as they collided off the coast of California before the ocean ran red with blood.
The chilling eight-minute clip was shared on YouTube by Monterey Bay Whale Watch, who witnessed the incident in April 2019.
The conservationist claims five killer whales surrounded the gray whale before the brawl broke out between the two.
During the duel, the quarreling duo fought for some time while thrashing fearlessly in the ocean.
Then the orca skillfully attacks the gray whale and rips out its tongue.
The gray whale is then drowned and does not resurface as a red sea is left behind.
Social media users were mortified by the brawl between the majestic marine mammals.
One Reddit user noted, “Orcas are literally gang members. This was a targeted attack on an innocent bystander.
“I don’t support.”
Another added: “Orca did a similar role to the crocodile death reel.
“Also note that this gray whale is the same size as the orca, it’s a juvenile.”
The gruesome encounter comes amid an alarming spate of reported orca attacks this year.
Brits feared for their lives just last week after a pod of killer whales rammed their yacht.
The bloodthirsty mob tore off a piece of the rudder while surrounding the ship in the Atlantic.
Overwhelmed by her “tremendous” power, the crew struggled to regain control of the yacht, leading them to believe she was sinking.
Orcas out of control
And just before the orca orca off the coast of Spain, another crazed pod of killer whales managed to sink a boat.
Five people were rescued in dramatic fashion after the 25-foot orcas punched a hole in the hull six miles off the port of Sines in Portugal.
Tourists were horrified when the ship began to take on water as the relentless mammals attempted to attack.
They jumped into a life raft and were picked up by a fishing vessel alerted by the Navy, which miraculously escaped injury.
Sailors have told of their horrific ordeal, fearing for their lives as whales spent hours ramming their boats and snapping oars.
In one report, 45-year-old Martin Evans feared his ship would sink after an arm of about 30 orcas attacked him.
He exclusively told The Sun how the five-ton mammals rammed his boat as his crew sailed near the Strait of Gibraltar.
Martin, who lives in Greece, said: “It was a rush.”
Nathan Jones, 27, of New Milton, Hants, added, “I started to think, ‘Is this how it all ends?’
“If the boat had sunk, we would have been in a life raft surrounded by killer whales. That would have been drastic.”
It was the latest in a series of orca attacks in the area.
Martin said, “It felt like they had a plan and they were angry.”
Scientists have noted a particular increase in orca incidents along the Atlantic coasts of Spain and Portugal.
The attacks, which damaged some boats, took place in different parts of the north coast of Spain and the Iberian Peninsula.
She called on the Spanish government to issue a temporary sailing ban on sailboats in certain regions to prevent further attacks.
