The Witcher: Origin of the Blood is the highly anticipated prequel and spinoff series from the popular Netflix witcher Series that recently aired its second season. We’ll probably have to wait until at least 2023 to see The Witcher Season 3, so fans are excited for new content in the dark fantasy universe.
Set 1,200 years before the events of The Witcher, origin of the blood will focus on the creation of the first sorcerer and what led to the conjunction of the spheres. While loosely based on The Witcher Books by Andrzej Sapkowski, origin of the blood is relatively new territory for Netflix series fans, book fans, and video game fans alike. We’ll see a new story come to life in this ever-expanding franchise.
And with the recent announcement that CD Projekt Red is now officially working on it The witcher 4a sequel to their critical and financial megahit The witcher 3it’s a fantastic time to be a witcher Fan.
The Witcher: Blood Origin release date updates
We don’t have many new updates to share, but we do know that filming for the series has wrapped and entered post-production in November 2021. post production is running The Witcher: Origin of the Blood should be completed in the next few months, probably in midsummer at the latest.
With that in mind, we’re expecting the series to release sometime this fall or winter. For the last two seasons of The Witcher came out in December, it would be interesting to see if Netflix would debut this series in The Witcher‘s usual timeslot and maybe alternate the two shows every year.
The Witcher: Blood Origin will star with Sophia Brown, Laurence O’Fuarain, Michelle Yeoh, Lenny Henry, Mirren Mack, Nathaniel Curtis and Dylan Moran.
