But the Rocky fan will be taking part in a charity fight next month, saying, “Losing is not an option.”
Thomas, who walks with a stick, said: “I always wanted to box but I didn’t think I could until I joined a boxing gym.
“I will do my best in the fight – win, lose or draw. Boxing is quite a hand-to-hand sport so that’s in my favor but I’ll have trouble seeing some of the punches.”
Thomas from Barnsley, who has a level 2 boxing certificate, added: “I hope he doesn’t make it easy for me because I’m blind.
“He pays when he does it. I have a KO punch.”
Thomas is currently lifting weights three days a week and the other days to be as strong as possible.
He is struggling to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
