Black Dahlia Murder frontman Trevor Strnad is dead at 41 and the rock band writes an emotional message about their “deep sadness”.

THE Black Dahlia Murder announced the death of lead singer Trevor Strnad on social media on Wednesday.
He was 41 when he died.

The band posted a message on Facebook on Wednesday confirming the tragic news.
It said: “It is with deep sadness that we announced the passing of Trevor Scott Strnad.
“Beloved son, brother and shepherd of the good times, he was loved by all who met him.
“A walking encyclopedia of all things music. He was a hugger, a writer, and truly one of the greatest entertainers in the world.”


The statement continued, “His lyrics provided the world with stories and spells and horrors and whims.
“It was his life to be your show.”
No cause of Trevor’s death was disclosed.
The band capped their Instagram statement with a phone number from the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
After his death, tributes from fans and peers in the music industry and beyond online showed support.
TOUCHING TRIBUTE
Mike Portnoy tweeted: “Absolutely shocked to hear of the death of @trevorTBDM from @bdmmetal, Trevor was part of the @metalallegiance family who sang our song The Accuser and joined us for shows in 2018 and 2019. My deepest condolences to his bandmates, friends and family #RIPTrevorStrnad.”
Riki Rachtman wrote, “I’ve felt this down before. I bet you have it too.
Another fan said: “Horribly sad news regarding #trevorstrnad’s brilliant #blackdahliamurder #restinpeace.”
Mike McKenna wrote on Twitter: “RIP @TrevorTBDM One of my absolute favorites. National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: 1-800-273-8255.”
Gimme Metal Radio tweeted, “We at Gimme are beyond shocked and saddened by the news of Trevor Strnad’s death. Always ebullient, enthusiastic about everything, kind and generous, it’s inconceivable that we’re even writing those words now, but we are.
“Our hearts are with his bandmates, his family and his fans.”
One fan grieved: “Rest in power Trevor Strnad. Our hearts go out to the @bdmmetal camp and to Trevor’s friends and family.”
TREVOR’S LAST POST
The musician was active on social media until his death.
His last post on Instagram came three days before his death.
It was a photo of him and his partner, Violet Knox.
He also shared a post to his Instagram story originally shared by her.
The post read, “What if we kissed and we were both sewer rats.”
She captioned the post: “Oh look it’s me and @trevorbdm.”
ABOUT THE BAND
The Black Dahlia Murder was formed in 2001.
That year they released their debut EP entitled What a Horrible Night to Have a Curse.
They went on to release nine full-length studio albums.
The band released their latest album Verminous in 2020.
It was highly rated by critics and loved by fans.
